On Wednesday, Dec. 2 students from the Fine Arts Department gathered in the L.W. Nixon Library to perform for Butler faculty, staff and students.
This was the fourth annual Open House/Holiday Sing offered at the L.W. Nixon Library.
The event began at 12:00 p.m. and ended around 1:15 p.m. The Library staff served homemade cookies and cider to those in attendance.
"We invite the whole campus to come," Micaela Ayers, Director of Library Services said.
Butler's very own Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Noteables, Smorgaschords, Headliners and Butler Ladies performed in the Library.
Ayers said the music provides a very relaxed atmosphere in the Library.
The different groups sang a variety of songs which helped start the holiday season on a good note.
Ayers said this event gives the different groups a chance to rehearse and perform in front of other Butler students, faculty and staff.
"They graciously decided to use some of their rehearsal time as almost a polished presentation for anybody who's here at the library to listen," Ayers said.
Ayers further commented saying it's a wonderful opportunity having real music in the place she loves, the L.W. Nixon Library.

This is a great idea - it lets them practice and also other people get to hear the music.
