Every week we review a particular movie we watch or a book we recently read, but this week, I'm going to review the busy shopping day known as Black Friday.

Black Friday isn't for everybody. The hustle and bustle becomes overwhelming at times, so it depends on how much you can handle.

I was up at 4:45 a.m. to begin my day of shopping. Trust me though, this isn't nearly as early as other people got up.

After shopping and finding amazing deals, we waited in line for about 45 minutes to check out. That seemed a little ridiculous, until the ladies behind us informed us that the line to get into Target's store at 4:00 a.m. was two miles long.

I wasn't really irritated from the wait to check out, because I expected there would be a wait, since it was Black Friday.

The thing that irritated me though, was the nagging, whining people. Everyone has to expect that stores will be busy and there will be a wait, because it's Black Friday and everyone else and their mother is shopping that day.

I constantly overheard people throwing a fit because of the wait, or because they sold out of a particular item. This was annoying because if you really think about it, there will be a wait no matter what, and a store isn't going to have enough deals for everybody who goes shopping on Black Friday.

Millions upon millions of people take advantage of all the doorbuster deals and extra savings each year. Traffic during the early morning hours is overwhelming and waiting lines are enormous, but it's all part of the experience. According to a survey done by the National Retail Federation, almost 200 million people decided to shop on Black Friday.

Even with all the whining, pushing, shoving and crowding, I still think my shopping experience was worth it.

Overall, I saved almost $300 by shopping for what I needed on Black Friday.

At the same time however, I bought a few extra things that weren't on my original list, because they were on sale and it seemed to be a good bargain. So, even though I saved money on that item, I was still spending more than planned. Still, I think shopping on Black Friday was successful and saved me a lot of money.

I think altogether, people saved quite a bit of money. With these difficult economic times, it's important to save money. Even with the challenging financial situations everybody is facing this year, I've heard on countless occasions that more people shopped this Black Friday than last year. I guess that means people are looking for the best deals because of the hard financial times for some.

I guess people are just like me and can't get enough of the Christmas spirit. I love Christmas time, and I love giving, so during this time of year, my checkbook absolutely hates me.
