Gabi Swank, 16, is best described as a beautiful, optimistic, bubbly, 4.0 student, and varsity cheerleader. Of course that was before the perfectly healthy young girl took the Gardasil shot.

Gabi and her mother decided to get the Gardasil vaccination because cervical cancer runs in their family and they believed the Gardasil shot would help prevent cervical cancer, but they were not warned of the risks.

Three days after the first shot Gabi started getting headaches and was very easily injured. During cheerleading practice Gabi would easily get hurt by doing stunts she had always done which was very unusual because Gabi had been in tumbling since she was five years old and rarely ever got hurt.

After the second shot of Gardasil Gabi started experiencing seizures, but no one could tell what they were.

"Gabi would just be shaking and I'd think she was cold. I'd say 'Go put on a sweater, or grab a blanket,'" Shannon Swank, Gabi's mother said.

By the third shot Gabi learned she was developing heart problems. While riding in the car with her mom to go cheer for the first football game of the season Gabi started experiencing chest pains, she then fainted in the car. Shannon and Gabi quickly went to the school sports trainer.

"He told me I was having an asthma attack, and I told him, 'No I don't have asthma,'" Gabi said. "But he kept saying 'You're just having an asthma attack.'"

Just to be sure, Shannon drove Gabi to the hospital to be checked out.

The hospital also believed at first Gabi was having an asthma attack. Doctors ran numerous tests and thought she was having a heart attack but later figured out that she wasn't. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with Gabi but knew it was not an asthma attack.

Gabi was put on breathing treatments and sent home.

Gabi and Shannon waited for awhile for someone to figure out what was happening to Gabi and why. Eventually, Gabi was diagnosed with Central Nervous System Lupus, Central Nervous System Vasculitisis and Pots Syndrome Vascular, all created from the Gardasil vaccine.
