Men falter in second half

On Feb. 20 the Butler men went down to the Barton County Cougars 82-62 in Great Bend. The Grizzlies and the Cougars fought back and fourth in the first half, but Barton led 44-39 at halftime. The team was once again without leading scorer Logan Stutz, Blue Springs, Mo. freshman who was serving the last of a two game suspension due to an ejection for throwing an elbow versus Colby.
"I was told by coach I would be getting another game on top of the Seward game I was suspended for," said Stutz.
Dominique Ngniman, Cameroon, freshman led the team in points with 16 and rebounds with six. Maurice Colter, Forestville, MD freshman, had 14 points. Kevin Sechrist, Lyons, sophomore and Avery Richardson, Wichita, sophomore each had nine.
"We just need to get tougher in key situations when we are behind. I like the effort but we just need to get tougher when we have any type of adversity," said assistant head coach Jon Craig
The grizzlies finish out the regular season versus the Pratt beavers in the Power Plant on March 1.
