Independence Community College's football team forfeited its wins against Fort Scott and Air Force Prep after learning one of its student-athletes was ineligible.
Independence Community College Athletic Director Mick Wilson said that the ineligibilty was withheld from them by the student-athlete, whom they are not naming. He said that the infraction was discovered internally and Independence reported the incident to the Jayhawk Conference and the NJCAA.
The student-athlete had signed a letter of intent and enrolled at another college last year. He failed to withdraw from his classes and enrolled at Independence for this semester.
The Independence Pirates are now 2-4 and 5th in the Jayhawk Conference.
