Grizzlies fall short at Nesosho

Lady Grizzlies took their first home win and beat their first ranked opponent in this season Cisco Texas here in the Butler Classic in soccer on Friday.
Butler (4-2-1) came into the game against Cisco witha a 0-2 mark this season against ranked teams.
Cisco came to the Butler Classic ranked 11th, not anymore. Lady Grizzlies took it to them in a 2-1 victory on home soil.
Cisco started early with a goal six minutes into the game by Vicki Pacheco.
The Lady Grizzlies answered with just three minutes to play before half with a penalty kick from Katy Rodriguez, Joplin, Mo freshman. The penalty kick was set up from a foul by Cisco inside the 18-yard box on as Cassie Dauber, Rose Hill sophomore was tackled from behind. This set Rodriguez up for a penalty kick.
Butler went into half with the momentum on their back. Just three minutes into the second half, Dauber scored from a great shot. This put the Lady Grizzlies up by one.
The Grizzlies got a lucky break when Cisco was on the attack as they got flagged for offside which saved the Grizzlies from a goal that would have tied the game.
Coach Adam Hunter feels as if the Lady Grizzlies could have finished off more opportunities in the game and the defense was very good in the win. Coach Hunter added "the team is starting to click better."
