Lady Grizzlies win home triangular

The Lady Grizzly volleyball team improved their record to 6-1 after beating Friends JV and Northern Oklahoma-Enid on Aug. 31. Butler beat Friends JV in four games 30-13, 26-30, 30-13, 30-23.
Alex Szalawiga and Rachel Moore, Olathe freshmen, led the way with 14 kills each in the win against Friends. Szalawiga also added in a team high 6 serving aces. Kayleigh Hartloff, Waterville freshman, added in 21 digs.
Head Coach Rick Younger commented on the play of Moore, "Rachel has really stepped up here lately. In each of her last two games she's had 14 kills."
Against Northern Oklahoma-Enid the Lady Grizzlies won in four games as well, 30-26, 30-17, 27-30, 30-19. Szalawiga led the way with a team high 14 kills while Kristi Parker, Mulvane sophomore, finished with 13. Parker also ended the match with an attack percentage of .524. Szalawiga and Kelly Curry, Lenexa sophomore, added in 25 digs apiece. Moore also added a team high 8 blocks.
Younger said, "The main thing we need to work on is patience."
