One of the most exciting and team spirit filled weeks at Butler is quickly approaching!
Monday, September 25 begins Homecoming week for Butler, and there are many events planned for that week. At each of the events stretching from Monday through Thursday, there will be a door prize given to the most spirited student.
Monday Sept. 25 begins the six-day celebration with a skate night at Rollerena from 9 p.m. - 11 p.m. Admission is free.
Tuesday Sept. 26 will be bowling night at the Prarie Bowl from 10 p.m. - 12 a.m. Admission is $3 per person.
On Wednesday Sept. 27, there will be a game of Texas Hold'em in the Gold Room of the Student Union building. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
Bingo night will be Thursday Sept. 28 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Kansas Room. Admission for this event will be free as well.
Finally, Friday, Sept. 29th, is Spirit Day.
On this day, students are invited to show off their Grizzly pride as much as possible! Coats, shirts, hats, pom-poms and anything else you have that shows your Butler team spirit can be worn. It takes place all over campus and an prize will be given for the "most spirited" Butler student on campus at the end of the day.
And then, Saturday Sept. 30, is the night that Butler has been anticipating for six days: our homecoming game.
At 7 p.m., the Butler Grizzlies will be playing the Air Force Prep Huskies.
Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned during halftime. After the crowning, there will be a fireworks show.
"We have a lot of fun things planned for Homecoming Week and I encourage everyone to come to at least one activity during the week, if not all of the activities," Chevis Rebstock, Student Government Association President, said.
Though there are no known Homecoming events happening at the Butler campus in Andover, students, especially freshman, seem to be quite excited to celebrate homecoming week.
" I don't think I will dress up or anything for spirit week, but it is very exciting to be a part of this tradition at Butler," Deja Brown, Wichita freshman, said.
Homecoming week is an exciting week to have fun at a cheap price, hang out with all of your friends and show off your Grizzly pride at the same time! This opportunity only happens once a year, so absorb every minute!
