Who says games are just for kids? The Student Life Programs is sponsoring a Spring Fling on May 5.
At the Spring Fling there will be games, food, prizes and much more.
Each of the clubs at BCC has sponsored a booth where students can learn about the club, but they can also play games that the club is hosting. Students will also get the chance to talk to other students and advisors who are active in the club.
"It is a great chance to meet other students and advisors involved with the club and also to promote student activities," said Adrien Rodriguez, Dean of Student Life.
For instance, the Grizzly Adventures will set up their booth and then transport people to the challenge course
where they can participate in wall climbing, zip lining or attempting the power pole.
Also at the Spring Fling will be Crash and Hitman from Power 93.9, who will be doing a live broadcast from 4 to 5:00 p.m.
At 5:00, Fling-goers will be able to listen to some live bands perform. Most members of the bands are former Butler students. Huxley, Elliot Road and Dear Augustine will be performing on stage in front of the Hubbard Center.
"It's cool to bring back Butler students to play," Rodriguez said.
The Spring Fling is just one of many events that the Student Life Program and started this year. Other firsts inlcude the Leadreship Challenge, Grizzly Welcome, Coping with College Educational Programs, weekly student activity programming and the opening of the Student Activity Center.
"The Spring Fling was created so that students, faculty and staff could have a good time. It is also a good way to create excitement," said Rodriguez.
In addition to the music and games, food will also be provided. However, those students who are not on the meal plan will have to pay $4.85 for the cost of the meal.
Some students around campus are ready for a evening to relax and have a good time, especially with the end of the school year being so hectic.
"It sounds like a good time. I am ready to have fun and be with the sexy ladies," said Naim Williams, Chicago freshman.
The Spring Fling will take place in front of the Hubbard Center from 4 to 8:00 p.m. on May 5. Dinner will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and Crash and Hitman will begin their live broadcast at 4:00 p.m.
